So we suggest packing at least 2-3 burp cloths in your diaper bag.
You want to have enough to handle any potential spit-up situations, but not so many that you’re lugging around a whole laundry basket.
But we’ve learned from our Peanut mamas that you can never be too prepared.
So, if you tend to over-pack, throw in an extra burp cloth or two for good measure ‒ even if it’s just to quiet that slightly panicked voice in your head.

How often should you change your burp cloth?
Everything that comes out of your baby’s stomach can stain a burp cloth.
So how often should you wash your burp cloths to keep them fresh and clean?
Basically, every time the cloths are used, they should be washed.
If you want to remove the stains, use a product on the dirty area and rub the stain before you wash them.
Then dry them outside or on a low heat in the dryer.
Remember that burp cloths will spend a lot of time in contact with your baby’s face.
Lots of parents prefer to use a mild detergent that’s suitable for baby’s sensitive skin.
What’s the best material for burp cloths?
Depending on the time of year your little one arrives, you might prefer to use burp cloths that are either thicker or more breathable.
Summer babies might find it less sweaty if you use terry and cotton knits, but flannel is a good option for the colder months.
