The Holidays are over and winter is in full bloom.
You know what else is in full bloom? My bloated belly! My hubby and I both agree that with the overindulgence of holiday eating and drinking, we both feel bloated and puffy.
(Plus, do you know how many days are left till the swimming pool is open? It isn’t many, my friends.)
To counteract this bloating and hopefully jump-start my metabolism (ie. lose some pounds) before spring, I’m trying this detox drink I found on Dr. Axe.
All the natural ingredients used for this detox drink can be found in your fridge and pantry. Dr. Axe says that not only will this detox drink help you de-bloat, but it also helps you feel more energetic, speeds up your metabolism, helps stabilize blood sugar and blood pressure and boosts your immune system. With all those benefits, I had to give it a try!
It is recommended that for two weeks you drink this 20 minutes before each meal (three times a day). After two weeks, just drink once a day before your breakfast or lunch. As with anything, if you have any health issues, please check with your doctor before you try this detox drink.
I’m excited to start detoxing (said no one ever…ha, ha). Let the de-bloatation begin!!
What you will need:
Unfiltered apple cider vinegar is full of probiotics and other beneficial bacteria. It can support immune function, help with blood sugar and constipation and help curb your appetite.
Packed with vitamin C and electrolytes, lemons can lower the risk of many diseases, help fight viruses, promote healthy skin and help with weight loss.
Cinnamon is the best antioxidant for balancing blood sugar.
Cayenne pepper helps speed up your metabolism and helps stabilize blood pressure.
- Sweetener (optional)
I used honey to help sweeten my drink. The recipe calls for Stevia, but I didn’t have any. The honey, however, was perfect!
- 12 – 20 ounces of water
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!! This is a great way to drink more water!
1Servings
Ingredients
1 glass of water (12-20 oz.)
2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 dash Cayenne Pepper
Sweetener to taste (honey, stevia, ect.)
Directions
Mix all ingredients in a glass.
It is recommended that for two weeks you drink this 20 minutes before each meal (three times a day). After two weeks, just drink once a day before your breakfast or lunch. As with anything, if you have any health issues, please check with your doctor before you try this detox drink.

Is it ok to mix all 3 servings in the morning (to take to work)? …or should it be mixed fresh before each use?

It works really well. I have been taking this for a couple of months on empty stomach , once a day , early morning. It has helped in weight loss (it works on the first reducing the excess fat in the body , which in turn promotes weight loss). It also helps in curbibg weight gain. Please note exercise at least for 20 mins is also important.

Lol none of this is true. Lemon juice and chinnamon are anti-inflammatories at best, apple cider vinegar just helps to regulate digestion and reduce excess water retaining. And red pepper doesn’t make you “burn more fat” lol. Honey just makes it taste better. There is no such thing as a “detox” drink, tea, ANYTHING. Stop spreading false info and do some actual research.

Hate to break it to people, but there is no such thing, as a “Detox Drink” your body does all the Detoxing on it’s own, especially when you sleep! That being said, it is a healthy drink, no doubts about that, but the word “Detox” is a sad scam, started by the Gym’s, just like with the way-over-used need of Protein, since your body can’t use more than a max of 0.64 Grams per Pound, and that has been very well known, through many studies since the beginning of the 70’s, the Gym’s could just sell more Protein Shakes, by making people believe, to gain Muscle, you must have 1.5 Grams per Pound, absolutely nothing but a waste of money!
If you’re doing the “Detox” for losing weight, just cut down on your Carb load, since your body burns Carbs before Fat, which is why so many people go to the Gym for nothing, cause all unused Carbs, are stored as Fat! Fat doesn’t make you Obese or Sick, simple Carbs does!

Hello, I was loooking for dr.Axe link and this link appeared below so I opened off of curiosity. I see that many of you is asking if this drink works.
As you can see all the ingredients are healthy and if you buy it organic that is even healthier. It’s important that you buy Bragg apple cider vinegar and local organic honey, and remaining organic ingredients. ACV and lemon juice by itself detox your body and reset your PH which the American standard diet messes up; the local honey helps fight seasonal allergies.
I have been drinking this for several years now – it can not hurt you because it’s all natural food/spices. I used to buy Braggs bottled drinks apple cider vinegar based with different flavors at Whole Foods ($3.50), and a man behind me said why don’t you buy a bottle of the Bragg apple cider vinegar and mix it yourself, this will save you a lot of money. And that is how I started drinking it, then I came across Dr. Axe recipe and added a few more great ingredients- I recommend you check his site to find out more about health benefits.
It does curb the appetite, regulates PH, dissolve the kidney stones-and many more.
By the way I love the taste, but I was never sugar, junk lover, I eat home made organic, simple meals so for me the taste is normal.
Do not be afraid to drink it daily, it will bring great results which you may not notice (like PH) unless you measure it. Good luck!Reply
