Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to process applicationsfor Maryland grocers to become authorized WIC vendors. This position willreview applications for completeness, verify ownership and compliance withother federal programs. This position will also perform onsite reviews andapprove or deny authorization based on findings. This position is alsoresponsible for routine monitoring activities and assisting with complianceinvestigations to ensure vendors are complying with required vendor practicescontained in State and Federal regulations. This position is also responsiblefor resolving participant and vendor complaints, fraud reports, andtransactional issues. This position requires travel throughout theState of Maryland, which includes high-crime urban areas. The applicant mustpossess a valid Maryland State driver's license and be willing to travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30credit hours from an accredited college or university foroneyear of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degreefrom a college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that includedregular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:

1. Experience interpreting and complying with federal and state regulations.

2. Experience drafting policies and procedures.

3. Experience in fraud detection.

4. Experience in retail food operations.

5. Written and verbal communication skills/experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
